Funny Incident

I got into Volvo bus which was packed with people already. I tried to find out a place where I can safely stand. There was one but had occupied with luggage. So, I tried to stand in the remaining place left there but, as there was no support, I was about to fall. So, I moved one of the luggage on top of other one. while doing that, the below luggage bent down. I ignored it. After a while, I came to know that there is a bottle which is not closed properly in the luggage which was lied down and started leaking water. After seeing that, I kept that bottle straight. But by that time, 1/2 litre of water is already leaked out of the bottle. There was a guy who sat in front of me. He stood and came to me and said "You did a very good job." . I said "I am sorry. I didn't see bottle there". He said " No problem. We also do sometimes". I said " I didn't do it intentionally". He said " I didn't say that". Finally, he started asking me "where I am working. What I am doing. Where do I stay..etc..etc.." I had to answer it because the water fell out of the bottle because of my mistake. He started giving his introduction saying "this is the first time he came to Bangalore to join a company and his cell is out of charge..etc.etc. and his friend said he will come to the bus stop to pick him". So, I asked him whether he want to make a call to his friend. His bus stop and my bus stop are same so I asked whether he needs my help for moving his luggage. And finally, I ran away from that place as soon as possible.

Moral of the story: It is better to stand in the place which is left. :)

Our great Politicians

I just hate these fellows:

Why can't these fellows do a single good thing which makes atleast few people happy.

Thoughts

I am seeing beggars these days with a small child in their hands. If they come to me and ask for money, I don't give money and I just get angry on that. Sometimes, I feel whether we can take all these children and keep them in an orphanage so that atleast they have basic education so that they can stand on their own feet rather becoming robbers or beggars or what ever anti social persons. I feel it is better to give food or education to a person than contributing that money in poojas and all. After all telugu quote says "Manava seve Madhava seva" (Serving to people is serving to God).

I don't know why our beloved politicians never think of this. And they want to exploit the cast-ism. None of the parties gave any statement against reservation in IITs or IIMs. And now, suddenly, BJP president L.K.Advani says they are still thinking of building RAM Temple in Ayodhya. And our beloved PM says they want to do something for Muslims and he feels they should be allowed to first claim on resources. My suggestion to a Muslim or a Hindu is only one. Don't go blindly with these politicians. They know British rule very well which is "Divide and Rule" and so they are implementing that on us. I don't mind much about whether to have a masjid or temple in Ayodhya.

Some thing that we can do:

Respect each other
Give basic education to your children. If not able to, don't give birth to them.

And the quote I have seen today:
Help ever, Hurt never
Love all, Serve all
- Sai Baba

Funny code

Some time back, I had to write a program where I need to have a thread which continuously looks for some status and does some work in background.
So, I started off like this.
Class MyThread implements Runnable
{
public void run()
{
//Something here

}

}

Class MyClass
{
public void function1()
{
MyThread thread = new MyThread();
thread.run(); // assuming thread runs in background
//do my work here
}
}

And I was wondering, why my program is taking so much time. And then, I figured out, that thread is running and my program is exiting only after thread finishes its work. :)
Later, my teammate asked me "Did you find out where you are wrong? " and explained where I was wrong. :)
Some times, we do such silly mistakes for which we waste hours and hours. :)

Beware of fraud calls from Citibank

I got a call from a lady saying she is a Citibank employee(Shyla) and whether I am interested in Citibank life time credit card. I was getting these calls many times and every time, I told them I am not interested. This time, she told me that they are giving credit card and DVD player as diwali gift and they want to know my address. I talked to many people regarding this, and they said "Go on and get it. Later you can cancel the card". I thought, it might be possible as I have seen some "get a watch by applying for credit card" in Citibank online site. So, I said "Yes". Now, recently, I got a courier for Citibank credit card and I didn't get the gift that she promised!!. I called her up (Fortunately, I had her number with me) and asked her regarding this. She said " It is in pending status. I will let you know after checking why it is in pending status". I still thought she is telling truth. Next day, when I called her up, now she started acting. She said "It is a wrong number. She is not the one whom I called". I thought "May be, her number might have changed. (Though it is less probable as I just spoke to her one day before)". I made a call to her thru my friend and confirmed her number hasn't changed. Now, I called up Citibank and told them this is what happened. Finally, it took so much time for me to cancel this card.

Moral of the story: Beware of such fraud calls rather wasting time and money later.

My Friend's quote

Never say you don't like a person. It is one/some of the quality/qualities that you don't like in a person not that person in whole. You should always take(and learn) good things in them and leave bad things.

I had to meet some of my classmates yesterday. I was in dilemma whether to go or not. Because, there is one person who hurt me once. But, I remembered my friend's quote and went there and talked with every one happily.

I like it

there is a lot of hardwork that is behind www.like.com. People were doing night outs to finish the work soon. Some people started working in US timings. Some started working in both timings. :)
Just after my joining, Riya launched Riya 1.0. Then, I can see people happiness in their faces. That is showing something like "We did it". My manager asked me "How are you feeling". I said "I wish I would have joined Riya 1 year back". He said "Don't worry. It is still a beginning. Lot to go.". Now, the time came. Riya launched Riya2.0. I felt happy. We were very happy. After the launch, we took a little break in reading articles on Riya. And now continuing our work.

A story

I read a story in news paper, which goes like this.
There is a old lady in a home and she want to join a oldage home. She stays with her younger son. So, elder son and younger son tries to convince her asking that Why she is thinking so even they are taking care of her somuch. Her daughter-in-law also never said anything which hurts her. And, she also take care of her. So, then the story tells how her day starts. She wakes up in the morning and do pooja for some time. And, then she tries to switch on TV to watch some spiritual programs. She tries to change the channel. But, as her eye sight is not very good and her hands are shaking, she increases volume in the attempt of changing channel. Her grand son comes with disturbed mood and says "Why you are keeping so much volume and disturbing my sleep" and then he keeps the channel which she wants and go back to sleep. She watches that one and then she goes to balcony and sit beside her son and says "Do you know how Krishna born. This program is explaining it very well..etc..". Then, her son says "Mom, let me read news paper please". Then, her daughter-in-law come and give coffee to her, then she tries to tell the samething to her. Then, her daughter-in-law says "I don't have time to listen all these now. I have to prepare breakfast and lunch. And, your grand son is not up yet. I have to wake him up and make him get ready.". Then, her grand daughter comes and ask her to do some thing for her. Then, this old lady asks the same thing to her. Then she says "Yeah. I know Him. I heard that He born in jail. Too sad. ". Then, her mom comes and tell her to get ready soon and go to school, otherwise, it gets late. In this way, every one is busy in her home and she don't have any one to share her feelings, her memories, etc. She has everything. But, her children are so busy that they didn't have time to talk to her and spend time with her.

A very true situation. I used to think that one shouldn't bring office work to home and vice versa. But, in s/w engineering life, It is very difficult to achieve.

common in bangalore??

These days, I am hearing news of thefts from many known people. I felt like, is theft common in bangalore??. I started listening to thefts when there was a theft in my sister's home few months back(in the afternoon). The thief came and kept all those things which he don't want on dining table and took all costlier ones. A report is made to police. They said "You dont need to worry. It may take 1 week, 1 month or 1 year or more. But, at the end, your belongings will be found and we will give it to you". Days passed by. Now, Police came with a notice saying "Your belongings can not be found. And we are closing your case". (!!!,Does it mean, they failed to find the belongings??).

Later, I heard there was a theft in my cousin's home. Then I heard a theft in my friend's home and then in my colleague's home and in my brother's friend's home and many more. Every where, the plan is same. The thief is coming in the night, and tries to open the bolt and take all valuable ones like watch, cell phone. In one of the incident, he removed the plug of TV, But he didn't take it. I generally think the news about theft in news paper is common. But now, when you are hearing from the persons whom you know. It is fearful. May be, after some time, if some one says there is a theft in some one's place, I may say "oh. it is common these days. ". :)

But, what police is doing here. In many places, when people planned to complain, police themselves are saying "what is the point. Leave it." or they will say "You are a s/w engineer. You are earning so much then why are you worrying. Just leave it." Then, why police are here. What is their duty then??

Random thoughts

Many times, I started writing a blog to burst my anger or sadness because of the mistakes that some other people do. But, later I think, what will I get by scolding the person. Then, I will think about all the advantages or goodness that happened to me because of that incident. And, I started writing about that incident. It is true. What will one get by scolding a person. Rather if you praise a person who helped you. You will feel happy. Your mind don't think negatively. And other person, whom you praised will feel happy and it makes a good impression on you. :) What not. Be Happy and Think positive. :)

It has been one year

It has been one year that me and my friend staying together. Now, it is the time to depart as she is getting married. It made me to recall the way that we started room hunt. Just like, things always happen for our goodness, my previous roommates told me to search for another house with a deadline of one month. Still, I can't forget that sleepless night that I had. I decided to vacate the room that day itself. Actually that happened for my goodness. That made me to reach my true friends again. I still cherish the days.. The shelter that is given in another friend's home temporarily till we get a home for us. And that short nice time that I spent with them. How I learnt, making phulkas and parathas there. :) The nice talking that we were having. watching movies in the night. I liked their cooperation in working together and I learnt that from them.
Finally, we got a home, my other friend found it for us. Every one gave full support and help when I decided to move out of my previous room mates' house. Those are real friends.
she taught me a lot. She gave comfort when I was in problems. She scolded sometimes, when I do something wrong. Today, I read in news paper that the person who can scold you when you are wrong and who can ask you apologies with out hesitation when they do mistake is a true friend. It happened for me. She asked for apologies when she mistakenly scolded me and she scolded me when I do any mistake. :) There are lots of things to learn from every person. And, I need to learn a lot from her too.

I am fortunate that I have good friends surrounding me. In IITK too, there were friends who helped me a lot. Who shared my sorrows and joys in my lab. And, now also, I have very good friends. But, now we need to depart. And we can be in touch with mails and some very few get-to-gethers as life is very busy.

Those were the best days of my life

Childhood days:
I want to be child again. Those days are missing now. :(
The days when we played a lot at school and do exercise in the evening. As a leader, requesting students to go to play ground to start exercise.
slapping to others who failed to answer the questions (as per teacher's order. :) ). Studying the meanings in hurry before teacher takes questioning session.
Listening to the stories told by Sir when the power goes off in the evening tuition. :)
Getting scolded by sis and father when watching t.v. or reading story book as nothing is audible to me in that time. (I used to say that is boon for me. My concentration. :) )
Writing the dialogues that is coming in TV while doing home work. :) And later rubbing it off and doing home work without TV. :)

Rush to home to get Soan-Papidi (sold by a seller who brings that in 4 wheeler) every day after school.
counting the number of greeting card that we got in new year.
Waiting for dussera holidays to receive my sis and brother. Playing with my brother and his friends.
Teaching my father (to not to tell children(my sister) that he'll give bi-cycle if my sis get these many marks in this class) by reading some info in news paper.
Going to grand parents village in the summer vacation and playing a lot in cradle by having three cradles for three of us.
Eating lot of laddus. :)
Singing in independence day and present folk dance by wearing the lambadi dress that I got. :)
Recording songs for all the dance programs (me and my sis as singers :)) )
Playing with colors on the occasion of Ganesh nimajjan and after that, washing clothes before mom sees. :)
Stealing tamarind and salt and zeera from home and eat at the outside with friends.
Lighting crackers during diwali even with a temperature of 102 degrees fever.:)
Bunking school and going to a competition in near by school and winning the prize.
sometimes, coming from school which is very far (around 5kms) by walk.
Counting "Good, very Good" written by teacher in the copy write.
competing with my competitor(Mahanandi)in my 7th standard. I can't forget the days where we used to quarrel with dusters and removing the cycle air caps. :)
Teaching maths to my neighbor.
Teaching 10th class maths to my relative. I tried a lot to teach him. But he was weak in maths so badly that I left their home the next day and reached my home.
Being happy to get first prize in maths quiz and crying for not getting first prize at second time. And that time, the other girl who won, came to me and told me to take the first prize that she got. :)
Finally by requesting, ordering, pleading (:) ) my mom a lot to get my hair decorated with flowers (actually called gazraa in Hindi. Don't know the word in English).
That enthusiasm, innocence, that tension free life as a free bird is missing now. :(

For a change

I decided to spend today a little bit different rather routine. Something worth, something useful. So, I went to temple in the morning (around 11 :) ). Everybody asked me "Is there any special today?". And my sister asks me "Today is Sunday. So, you went to church? :))".
In the afternoon, I tried to learn scooty. Nice experience. First, I should say thanks to my teacher (and owner of Scooty) who is teaching me. :)
In the beginning, she told me what is what. And then she told me to sit and start accelerator. I started accelerating it continuously without stopping it. That is the first time that I afraid as it is going so fast and she is telling me to stop accelerating it, but I was not knowing what to do. :) Finally, some how, she made it to stop. Later it went on so smoothly. :)
More to do and update.
